RE : the agreed Northumberland syllabus 2022

The principle aim of religious education is to explore what people believe and what difference this makes to how they live, so that people can gain the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to handle questons raised by religion and belief, reflecting on their own ideas and ways of living.

At Bellingham Primary we recognise and value the importance of differences and aim to develop our pupils knowedge in 'religious literacy' - comparing religions, beliefs and practices.

We encompass all three elements to provide breadth and depth to our learning setting the context for the open exploration of religion and belief.
  • Making sense of beliefs
  • Making connections
  • Understanding the impact.
We have well-established links with places of worship within our own village and beyond, offering first hand experiences and themed events.
